Quantification of hydration products in cementitious materials incorporating silica nanoparticles

摘要: In the present work, silica nanoparticles (30-70nm) were supplemented into cement paste to study their influence on degree of hydration, porosity and formation of different type of calcium-silicate-hydrate (C-S-H) gel. As the hydration time proceeds, the degree of hydration reach to 76% in nano-modified cement paste whereas plain cement achieve up to 63% at 28 days. An influence of degree of hydration on the porosity was also determined. In plain cement paste, the capillary porosity at 1hr is ~48%, whereas in silica nanoparticles added cement is ~35 % only, it revealed that silica nanoparticles refines the pore structure due to accelerated hydration mechanism leading to denser microstructure. Similarly, increasing gel porosity reveals the formation of more C-S-H gel. Furthermore, C-S-H gel of different Ca/Si ratio in hydrated cement paste was quantified using X-ray diffractometer and thermogravimetry. The results show that in presence of silica nanoparticles, ~24% C-S-H (Ca/Si<1.0) forms, leading to the formation of polymerised and compact C-S-H. In case of plain cement this type of C-S-H was completely absent at 28 days. These studies reveal that the hydration mechanism of the cement can be tuned with the incorporation of silica nanoparticles and thus, producing more durable cementitious materials.

Understanding the behavior of recycled aggregate concrete by using thermogravimetric analysis

摘要: The physio-chemical changes in concrete mixes due to different coarse aggregate (natural coarse aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate (RCA)) and mix design methods (conventional method and Particle Packing Method (PPM)) are studied using thermogravimetric analysis of the hydrated cement paste. A method is proposed to estimate the degree of hydration ( ) from chemically bound water ( ). The PPM mix designed concrete mixes exhibit lower . Recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) mixes exhibit higher and after 7 d of curing, contrary to that after 28 and 90 d. The chemically bound water at infinite time ( ) of RAC mixes are lower than the respective conventional concrete mixes. The lower , Ca(OH) bound water, free Ca(OH) content and FT-IR analysis substantiate the use of pozzolanic cement in the parent concrete of RCA. The compressive strength of concrete and cannot be correlated for concrete mixes with different aggregate type and mix design method as the present study confirms that the degree of hydration is not the only parameter which governs the macro-mechanical properties of concrete. In this regard, further study on the influence of interfacial transition zone, voids content and aggregate quality on macro-mechanical properties of concrete is needed.

现代混凝土收缩开裂的评估方法与控制关键技术 Article

摘要:

现代混凝土组成日趋复杂、收缩加大、结构约束增强,导致收缩开裂问题突出,严重影响构筑物的服役性能和使用寿命。本文以胶凝材料体系水化程度作为材料与环境温湿度交互作用的基本状态变量,提出了复杂胶凝材料体系水化反应活化能的计算方法,建立了水化-温度-湿度-约束耦合作用模型,实现了多种收缩的耦合计算和开裂风险的量化评估;介绍了水化温升抑制、全过程补偿收缩和化学减缩三项关键技术的作用机理及效果,这些技术能够有针对性地降低混凝土的温降收缩、自收缩和干燥收缩;在此基础上,提出了高抗裂混凝土的设计方法,采用该方法后,全过程控制开裂风险系数小于阈值;最后介绍了典型的工程应用案例,结果表明,采用所提出的方法和技术能够显著抑制甚至避免实际工程中收缩裂缝的产生。

Thermodynamic analysis of ethanol synthesis from hydration of ethylene coupled with a sequential reaction

摘要: Coal-based ethanol production by hydration of ethylene is limited by the low equilibrium ethylene conversion at elevated temperature. To improve ethylene conversion, coupling hydration of ethylene with a potential ethanol consumption reaction was analyzed thermodynamically. Five reactions have been attempted and compared: (1) dehydration of ethanol to ethyl ether ( ), (2) dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde ( ), (3) esterification of acetic acid with ethanol ( ), (4) dehydrogenation of ethanol to ethyl acetate ( ), and (5) oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol to ethyl acetate ( ). The equilibrium constants and equilibrium distributions of the coupled reactions were calculated and the effects of feed composition, temperature and pressure upon the ethylene equilibrium conversion were examined. The results show that dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde has little effect on ethylene conversion, whereas for dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde and ethyl acetate, ethylene conversion can be improved from 8% to 12.8% and 18.5%, respectively, under conditions of H O/C H = 2, 10 atm and 300°C. The esterification of acetic acid with ethanol can greatly enhance the ethylene conversion to 22.5%; in particular, ethylene can be actually completely converted to ethyl acetate by coupling oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol.

Analysis of synergy degree and its influencing factors in hydropower EPC project management

摘要: The use of engineering procurement construction (EPC) mode is currently a trend in hydropower engineering construction. The clarification of the internal relationship between hydropower EPC projects and the realization of synergy has great significance in improving management efficiency and implementation effect. In this work, a three-dimensional system and a system model of hydropower EPC project management synergy are constructed. The mechanism and factors that influence the degree of management synergy are analyzed on the basis of management synergy theory. Furthermore, the evaluation index system and the degree of synergy model are established, and grey relational analysis is utilized to identify the key factors that affect the synergy degree. Thus, this study aims to facilitate the hydropower EPC project management synergy, provide a quantitative method for synergy degree evaluation, and propose corresponding promotion strategies. Results show that the order degree of each subsystem presents a steady upward trend. Specifically, the order degree of the subsystem at the trial operation stage is low, which is the major restriction on the further improvement of the synergy degree of EPC project management. The key factors in improving the synergy level of hydropower EPC project management are mainly concentrated in the information and organization synergy subsystems, including the construction degree of information platform, the performance of functions, the timeliness of information transfer, and the functions of the information platform.

Hydration, microstructure and autogenous shrinkage behaviors of cement mortars by addition of superabsorbent

摘要: Superabsorbent Polymer (SAP) has emerged as a topic of considerable interest in recent years. The present study systematically and quantitively investigated the effect of SAP on hydration, autogenous shrinkage, mechanical properties, and microstructure of cement mortars. Influences of SAP on hydration heat and autogenous shrinkage were studied by utilizing TAM AIR technology and a non-contact autogenous shrinkage test method. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was employed to assess the microstructure evolution. Although SAP decreased the peak rate of hydration heat and retarded the hydration, it significantly increased the cumulative heat, indicating SAP helps promote the hydration. Hydration promotion caused by SAP mainly occurred in the deceleration period and attenuation period. SAP can significantly mitigate the autogenous shrinkage when the content ranged from 0 to 0.5%. Microstructure characteristics showed that pores and gaps were introduced when SAP was added. The microstructure difference caused by SAP contributed to the inferior mechanical behaviors of cement mortars treated by SAP.

On the location of the secondary instantaneous poles in two-degree-of-freedom spherical mechanisms

As the instant centers in planar mechanisms, the instantaneous poles (or instant poles, in brief) can be used for kinematic analysis in spherical mechanisms. One of the mandatory steps in this analysis is the determination of the location of these poles. This paper presents a theorem showing analytically that the locus of an unknown secondary instant pole in two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) spherical mechanisms is a great circle (GC). The exact location of the pole on its GC is obtained based on the configuration of the mechanism and velocity ratio of the two inputs. Moreover, using the results of the theorem, a geometrical technique is presented to determine the GC of the pole.

Stiffness of a 3-degree of freedom translational parallel kinematic machine

In this paper, a typical 3-degree of freedom (3-DOF) translational parallel kinematic machine (PKM) is studied and analyzed whose tool platform has only translations along X-Y- and Z-axes. It consists of three limbs, each of which have arm and forearm with prismatic-revolute-revolute-revolute (PRRR) joints. Inverse kinematics analysis is carried out to find the slider coordinates and joint angles for a given position of tool platform. Stiffness modeling is done based on the compliance matrices of arm and forearm of each limb. Using the stiffness modeling the variations of minimum and maximum translational stiffness in the workspace are analyzed. For various architectural parameters of the 3-DOF PKM the tendency of variations on the minimum and maximum stiffness over the entire workspace is studied; and also the deflections of the tool platform along XY, and Z directions with respect to various forces are presented.

预制拼装箱梁现浇横隔梁水化热分析与控制研究

摘要:

在节段预制拼装桥梁的墩顶节段,常常采用后浇横隔梁的方式来减轻吊装重量。后浇横隔梁在体量上属于大体积混凝土,混凝土水化热问题会引起一些部位拉应力过大,如控制措施不合理,往往会导致预制梁段在施工阶段的开裂。本文结合南京长江第四大桥的引桥工程,基于三维瞬态温度场理论,利用通用有限元程序ANSYS对墩顶梁段现浇块的水化热效应进行了数值仿真,研究箱梁水化热温度场和应力场的分布规律。分析结果表明,水化热引起的箱梁腹板外侧拉应力水平足以导致混凝土开裂,在水化热测试试验中也观测到了箱梁腹板外侧的纵向微裂缝,与分析相符。在研究水化热温度场和应力场分布规律的基础上,进行了控制水化热温度应力的措施研究,在实桥施工中证实是切实有效的。

A survey of instantaneous poles for a class of two-degree-of-freedom spherical mechanisms

This paper is a detailed exploration of instantaneous poles for a class of two-degree-of-freedom (two-DOF) spherical mechanisms (SMs) with seven links or bars. For two-DOF SMs, the secondary instantaneous poles (the ones which cannot be found by direct inspection) must lie on the specified great circles. For many of these mechanisms, however, some of these great circles cannot be obtained by a direct application of Aronhold-Kennedy theorem. This paper presents geometrical and analytical techniques to locate these unknown great circles for three topologies of seven-bar two-DOF SMs.

Error analysis and optimization of a 3-degree of freedom translational Parallel Kinematic Machine

In this paper, error modeling and analysis of a typical 3-degree of freedom translational Parallel Kinematic Machine is presented. This mechanism provides translational motion along the Cartesian X-, Y- and Z- axes. It consists of three limbs each having an arm and forearm with prismatic-revolute-revolute-revolute joints. The moving or tool platform maintains same orientation in the entire workspace due to its joint arrangement. From inverse kinematics, the joint angles for a given position of tool platform necessary for the error modeling and analysis are obtained. Error modeling is done based on the differentiation of the inverse kinematic equations. Variation of pose errors along XY and Z directions for a set of dimensions of the parallel kinematic machine is presented. A non-dimensional performance index, namely, global error transformation index is used to study the influence of dimensions and its corresponding global maximum pose error is reported. An attempt is made to find the optimal dimensions of the Parallel Kinematic Machine using Genetic Algorithms in MATLAB. The methodology presented and the results obtained are useful for predicting the performance capability of the Parallel Kinematic Machine under study.

煤炭高效洁净化利用的研究

通过分析我国目前煤炭利用的主要方式和存在的问题,分析对比国内外煤炭高效洁净化利用技术,研究高效洁净化利用技术对环境的影响程度,建立了煤炭高效洁净化利用指标体系,给出了评价煤炭高效洁净化利用程度的洁净化度、生态优化度、低碳度的概念并作出了相应的定量判据,最后提出了我国2030年、2050年煤炭高效洁净化利用的有效途径和发展战略。

Real atom economy and its application for evaluation the green degree of a process

摘要: Green chemistry has attracted more attention in the past century. Among the 12 principles of green chemistry, only atom economy and E factor can be expressed quantitatively to depict the impact of a chemical process to environment. Atom economy was thought better than the traditional yield for evaluating the atom efficiency of raw materials. But it is not enough to reflect the conversion degree of raw material. In this paper, we proposed the concept of real atom economy (RAE) as a metric. RAE could combine the above two factors together to better express the green degree of a process. We further suggested an equation to correlate E factor with RAE. The concept of RAE is proved to be helpful for estimating an environmentally benign process.

Singularity loci of an orthogonal spherical two-degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism

摘要: Singularity analysis plays an important role in the design of robots, especially for parallel robots. In this paper, the direct and inverse kinematics of an orthogonal spherical two-degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism is proposed based on the modified Euler angles. All the singular poses of the mechanism are achieved through the direct kinematic analysis. Self-motions, which are different from the general spherical 5 parallel mechanisms, are also discussed. Singularity loci in the joint space and Cartesian space are plotted according to the Jacobin of the mechanism. Result shows that the singularity loci at the joint space are two circles and one line, whereas at the Cartesian space are a circle.
